Tango intensive information

Instructors:- Ricardo & Violeta Pacheco
First Tango Lesson will be the Program that we regularly teach for
Intro/Beginners Level in Calgary. This Program includes the following:
Basic 8 count Tango step, 1/4 and 1/2 turns, continuous walking
(caminada), cradle figure, forward and back 8 figures, plus all the
technique, such as embrace, posture, frame, foot work, etc that are
required to create a good foundation of Tango, essential for future
advanced lessons. If some of the participants have already taken Tango
lessons, this Program will be implemented as a review of what they have
learned before. I know that they will learn something new.
Second Tango Lesson will be a review of previous lesson and new figures
and technique will be added, such as sandwich figure, sweeping, wind
mill (molinetes)to the right and left sides of leader, and optional
patterns in order to get back into the line of dancing.
Third and final Tango Lesson will be another review of previous 2
Lessons plus additional figures that include take out (sacadas),
stopping (paradas) 180 degrees turns (cambio de frente), etc.
Hooks,"boleos" and other figures will be added if lessons are learned
promptly and still time left before the end of the class.

We were born in Chile and emigrated to Canada in 1975 with our 3
children. We have been dancing almost our entire lives because that is
the nature of our Latin background. We joined University of Calgary
Ballroom Dancing Club and we were members for 14 years, 6 of them as
Teacher Assistants, until we found Argentinean Tango. Now we dedicate
our entire time to this beautiful Dance plus Milonga and Tango waltz, 2
 variations of Tango.
